We captured and radio collared Calvin on Feb 7 in the Na Bpern area where he appeared with Wishbone and his sibling Hobbes. When Calvin was captured, he was about 3 months old. We fixed an expandable collar on him, expecting it to fall off in less than two months. He weighed 3.25 kilograms at the time of capture and was in excellent shape. We radio tracked him for 23 days before his signal dissapeared. We suspect that he shed his collar (which is likely at the bottom of one of the many muddy ponds he liked to spend time in), and has dispersed away from out central study area. We plan to launch a thorough paramotor survey in the near future to make one final attempt to locate his collar.
