Pegleg was snared by a local hunter more than a year ago but has managed to make a living quite well since then based on his body condition. Having apparently spent most of a night in a snare, he eventually sacrificed his right pawmorning. Pegleg uses the same reed patches used by Wishbone and her young. Early this year--when there was still plenty of food and shelter--we would see his distinctive pegleg tracks in the Na Bpern area. Pegleg has gained the respect of current and former poachers as he always manages to steer clear of snares even when his them. Pegleg hasn't been seen for a while so we are hoping this tenacious cat is still around.
